As a Software Engineer III in GenAI Data Operations Research at Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that develops cutting-edge technologies that transform how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your role will involve working on critical projects that align with Google’s evolving needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies, including style guidelines and code accuracy.
  • Implement solutions in one or more specialized machine learning areas, utilizing ML infrastructure and contributing to model optimization and data processing.
  • Lead the creation of high-volume synthetic datasets, including metadata deliveries for XR and Platform and Devices projects.
  • Build modular toolkits for GenAI bulk inference and metadata extraction.
  • Develop end-to-end pipelines for fine-tuning in-house foundational models.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more areas such as speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, machine learning infrastructure, or a specialization in another machine learning field.
  • At least 1 year of experience with machine learning infrastructure, including model deployment, evaluation, data processing, and debugging.
