This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the antenatal care team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, where we are committed to improving health and birth outcomes for women and babies. The successful candidate will start in the new financial year, April 2026 onwards, and will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care for complex pregnancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care for complex pregnancies in both the antenatal clinic and the antenatal assessment unit.
- Collaborate effectively with the sonography, obstetric, and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Work within our satellite clinics located in Gainsborough and Grantham.
- Adhere to public health guidelines for screening mothers and newborns.
- Participate in specialist clinics, including fetal medicine, multiple pregnancy clinics, and preterm birth prevention clinics.
- Administer vaccinations such as Flu, pertussis, and RSV as part of antenatal care, including training for these services.
- Utilize the BSOTS triage system in the antenatal assessment unit to enhance patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Midwife with the NMC.
- Recognized teaching qualification and Diploma in Midwifery.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Completion of the Trust Maternity Preceptorship pack or equivalent experience, including skills in perineal suturing, IV cannulation, IV drug additives, and phlebotomy.
- Ability to interpret and apply research findings and demonstrate involvement in clinical audits and standard setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resource management skills and experience in multidisciplinary working.
- Awareness of the dignity in care agenda and ability to demonstrate key values such as patient-centeredness, safety, compassion, respect, and excellence.
