Senior Radiographer CT & MRI Overview

We are seeking to hire experienced radiographers with expertise in either CT, MRI, or both to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. Our facilities are located at the Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals, equipped with advanced imaging technology including 9 Canon CT scanners and multiple Siemens and Phillips MRI scanners.

The role involves performing a wide range of examinations, including orthopaedic, neuro, and chest/body studies, as well as specialized procedures such as cardiac imaging and angiography. The successful candidate will also participate in the MRI on-call rota, ensuring comprehensive coverage for our patients.

Main Duties

• Conduct various CT and MRI examinations, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
• Collaborate with a skilled team of radiographers and assistants, fostering a positive work environment.
• Engage in continuous professional development, including training and attending relevant courses.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT and MRI technology and techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential: DCR (R) or BSc in Radiography.
• Essential: Current HCPC Registration.
• Essential: Relevant NHS experience or equivalent.
• Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in CT or MRI.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Desirable: Knowledge of multi-slice CT techniques and MRI physics.
