Senior Care Assistant Overview

This position is for a Senior Care Assistant at HC-One in Angus, offering a full-time role of 44 hours per week on night shifts. At HC-One, kindness is central to our approach, influencing every aspect of care in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents, who each have unique stories and needs.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading a team of Care Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and planning personalized care strategies that promote residents’ dignity and independence. You will work closely with residents and their families, helping to create a supportive environment. Additionally, you will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication and maintaining accurate care records.

To be successful in this role, you should ideally have a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care and be willing to pursue a Level 3 qualification. Experience in person-centered care planning and knowledge of dementia care are beneficial. Strong record-keeping skills and effective time management are essential, along with a positive demeanor and the ability to connect with others.
