As a Research Scientist in the Provenance team at DeepMind, you will leverage your machine learning expertise to collaborate with domain experts and fellow scientists on strategic initiatives. This role focuses on enhancing the robustness and trustworthiness of machine learning applications, particularly in the context of synthetic media provenance.

Responsibilities

• Engage with ongoing research initiatives within the Strategic Initiatives Program to address significant challenges using your extensive machine learning knowledge.
• Collaborate with fellow researchers and machine learning engineers to identify and create innovative machine learning solutions for important strategic issues.
• Clearly and efficiently report and present research findings and developments, including progress and results, both internally and externally, in both verbal and written formats.
• Propose and participate in team collaborations to achieve research objectives for the broader scientific program.

Requirements

• A PhD in Machine Learning or equivalent research or industry experience.
• Proficiency in scripting languages and pipelining tools.
• Strong programming skills.
• Published research in a machine learning conference focusing on robustness, image or video generation, or classification.
• Quantitative expertise in mathematics and statistics.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to enhance the robustness and trustworthiness of model deployments.
• Familiarity with Generative AI models for audio or video.
• Knowledge of adversarial robustness, data influence, or watermarking.
• A passion for artificial intelligence and a proven track record of delivering impactful research.
