An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Radiographer to join our team as a Band 7 Radiology Clinical Lead. This key leadership role within the department offers the chance to support and shape the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective imaging services. The successful candidate will provide visible clinical leadership, supporting operational delivery while maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, quality improvement, and staff wellbeing.

This role requires on-call cover for evenings and weekends in addition to day shifts. The base location for this position is Royal Bournemouth Hospital, with cross-cover at Poole Hospital. The interview date is scheduled for Wednesday, 15th July 2026.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership within your designated imaging area.
  • Support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care in line with Trust values.
  • Lead, support, and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to service delivery, performance management, and patient flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and transformation within Radiology.
  • Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R, health and safety standards, and governance requirements.
  • Support staff through supervision, appraisal, and professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to improve patient pathways.
  • Act as an approachable and visible leader, promoting a culture where staff feel supported, valued, and empowered.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered nurse, educated to diploma or degree level.
  • Completion of a teaching and assessing course or mentorship in practice course, or NMC supervising learners in practice approved.
  • Evidence of a post-registration qualification or approved training course in leadership and management.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in interventional radiology or a similar interventional specialty.
  • Management experience.

Essential Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Completion of a recruitment and selection course.
  • Appraisal skills and competencies.
  • IV Therapy skills and competency.
  • Conscious sedation skills.

Essential Knowledge

  • Awareness of patient experience, quality, and safety agendas that support governance frameworks.
  • Experience in implementing service development and changes.
  • Involvement in policy and SOP development.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work well within a team and across all disciplines.
