Graduate Software Engineer Overview

As a Graduate Software Engineer at BAE Systems, you will engage in the creation of advanced software for various platforms, contributing to the entire product lifecycle from concept to delivery and maintenance. This role is based in Brough (Hull) and offers a competitive salary of £34,000 per annum, along with a £2,000 welcome bonus.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop innovative software solutions for various platforms, participating in the complete product lifecycle from initial concept through design, development, delivery, and ongoing maintenance.
• Evaluate and review system requirements, focusing on both high-level and low-level software design.
• Implement software by updating existing code, creating new code, and integrating updates into new software baselines.
• Conduct software unit and integration testing, specifically white-box testing.
• Perform hardware/software qualification testing, also known as black-box testing.
• Manage software certification processes, which include documentation, investigating defects, and resolving issues.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in relevant subjects such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
