As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) within the Google Cloud Consulting team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming advanced AI products into practical applications for customers. This position goes beyond traditional advisory roles, as you will actively engage in coding, debugging, and deploying customized solutions directly within client environments. The ideal candidate will possess a founder’s mindset, adept at overcoming challenges related to production integration, data readiness, and state management that hinder the deployment of enterprise-grade AI solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a developer for sophisticated AI applications, moving from rapid prototypes to production-grade workflows that yield measurable ROI.
• Designing and implementing the integration between Google’s AI products and the customer’s existing infrastructure, including APIs and legacy data systems.
• Creating high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure that AI systems meet standards for accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Identifying common patterns and challenges encountered in the field with Google’s AI stack, and translating these into reusable modules or formal requests for product features to the Engineering teams.
• Collaborating with pre-sales and product teams to embed Google-grade development best practices, ensuring the long-term success of projects and high user adoption.

To qualify for this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development using Python or similar programming languages.
• Proven experience in taking AI-driven solutions from concept to launch and architecting AI systems on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience in building data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data using vector databases and RAG-like architectures for enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
