As a Data Center Technician II in AI Infrastructure at Google, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical infrastructure that powers Google’s advanced search technology. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware components such as servers and server software, including Google’s Linux cluster. You will also handle the configuration of complex components like networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols.

Your typical day will involve manual movement and installation of racks, which can be physically demanding, but you will be excited to work with cutting-edge infrastructure. The AI and Infrastructure team is at the forefront of redefining possibilities, empowering Google customers with innovative capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unmatched scale, efficiency, reliability, and speed.

In this role, you will contribute to the deployment, maintenance, and support of Google Cloud region infrastructure, lead troubleshooting efforts for critical technical issues, assist in testing new server hardware, and configure operating system-related issues on servers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with computer hardware and server troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of operating systems and networking protocols.
• Experience in project management and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting equipment and using safety gear.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining and monitoring server systems.
• Background in data center or network operation center environments.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with teams effectively.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
