Data Analyst Intern – Competency Management Overview

This internship opportunity as a Data Analyst Intern within the Chief Engineer’s Office at GE Vernova is designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in data analytics within an engineering context. You will be instrumental in analyzing data to support competency development in the Engineering and Technology function at Grid Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage in-house Competency Assessment tools, including the creation and modification of competency models, user account management, and providing support to employees and their supervisors.
• Analyze engineering competency data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Python, Tableau, and PowerPoint to visualize key metrics and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar field.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Python, and Tableau.
• Good understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques.
• Experience using PowerPoint to create impactful presentations.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication skills to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
