Applications are invited for a substantive full-time (10PA) position for a consultant in Otolaryngology with a special interest in Otology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH). The successful candidate will enhance the department’s capabilities and work flexibly within the Norfolk and Waveney combined Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) service. This role is intended for a general Otolaryngologist with a focus on Otology and Bone Conducting Implants (BCIs) and devices.

NNUH is recognized as a center for BCIs, and candidates interested in developing skills in BCIs and middle ear implants are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training for BCIs will be provided, supported by a dedicated Audiology team. While a fellowship in otology is desirable, it is not mandatory, as the Trust is committed to developing an otologist, particularly in managing complex otological conditions.

The appointment is to the Trust rather than specific hospitals, and the appointee will participate in a 1 in 8 weekday on-call and a 1 in 11 weekend on-call schedule. All consultants are expected to contribute to the Trust’s Clinical Governance program, which includes active participation in clinical audits, quality assurance, clinical guidelines, professional development, appraisal, and risk management. The appointee will also be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and is expected to uphold the Trust’s values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity, and Excellence, fostering an inclusive culture.
