In the role of Communications Lead for Post AGI Research at Google DeepMind, you will play a crucial part in shaping the communication strategies surrounding one of the most transformative technologies of our time. Your work will involve collaborating closely with the Chief AGI Scientist and the Post AGI Research team to produce high-impact communications that highlight socio-technical research.
Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive support for high-visibility executive speaking engagements and internal events, where you will lead content preparation, presentation development, and manage logistics. You will also be tasked with developing and executing social media strategies for executive channels, ensuring that content creation is engaging and metrics are analyzed for optimization.
As the key media contact for the Post AGI team, you will manage relationships with journalists, coordinate interviews, and define communication plans that reflect public perception. Staying informed about AI industry trends will be essential, as you will collaborate with various internal departments to ensure that all messaging aligns with Google DeepMind’s mission and business objectives.
To qualify for this position, you should have at least 7 years of experience in speech writing and working directly with senior executives, along with 2 years of experience writing for the technology sector, specifically in AI or machine learning. You should be adept at interviewing subject matter experts to translate technical ideas into published communications and have experience in managing corporate social media platforms and content management systems.
Preferred qualifications include experience in communicating scientific and technical concepts related to AGI and sociotechnical research, as well as expertise in visual storytelling and creative content development across various digital mediums. A strong understanding of the societal impacts of AI and demonstrated emotional intelligence will also be beneficial.
