An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and patient-focused Band 7 Radiographer to join the Imaging Department at Newham University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. This role is essential in supporting the department to meet its activity and quality improvement priorities, as well as diagnostic and cancer performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and high-quality radiographic examinations.
  • Ensure excellent patient care and experience at all times.
  • Support junior staff, students, and newly qualified radiographers.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, radiation safety, and departmental audits.
  • Participate in the delivery of a safe and efficient imaging service, including shift and weekend work as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Essential: BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR(D) Diploma from the College of Radiographers, or equivalent.
  • Essential: Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Essential: Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Desirable: Postgraduate study in a relevant area and completion of a Student Clinical Assessors Course.
  • Essential: Ability to work as part of a team and mentor junior staff.
  • Essential: Effective time management and ability to cope with work pressures.
  • Essential: Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Essential: Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
