The Imaging Department at Whipps Cross Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, is seeking a Clinical Specialist Radiographer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Radiographer to contribute to one of the busiest A&E departments in the country, supporting a wide range of specialties including CT Colon services, walk-in GP services, and dedicated MRI pacemaker imaging services.
The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the safe and effective operation of the imaging department. Responsibilities include performing high-standard x-ray examinations, rotating through CT, IR, and General X-ray services, and participating in a 24/7 imaging service. This role also involves supervising and mentoring junior staff and ensuring high-quality patient care while maintaining professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the safe and effective operation of the imaging department.
- Perform a variety of x-ray examinations to a high standard.
- Rotate through CT, IR, and General X-ray services.
- Participate in the delivery of a 24/7 imaging service.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and students.
- Manage patient flow for timely imaging services.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professionalism.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience working unsupervised and understanding of clinical governance.
- Leadership and mentoring experience.
- Desirable: Experience in CT and/or Interventional Radiography.
