This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Hepatobiliary/Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (HPB/NET) team as a Clinical Research Nurse. The role involves participating in a diverse range of early and late clinical trials, with a focus on assessing and managing the complex needs of patients involved in these studies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage clinical trial protocols in collaboration with clinical trial coordinators.
  • Assess and address the complex needs of patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring the delivery of specified treatments.
  • Participate in feasibility reviews and risk assessments for new clinical trial opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, including ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs.
  • Support patient recruitment and management, ensuring targets for recruitment are met.
  • Oversee the safe administration of medicinal products within clinical trials.
  • Act as the primary contact for clinical trial patients and provide guidance to other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in promotional events to raise awareness of clinical research nursing and clinical trials.
  • Contribute to the development and review of specialist care pathways in collaboration with relevant personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of all clinical trial activities and ensure timely documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
  • Possess a first degree or relevant clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in oncology nursing and working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to show evidence of service improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills and advanced organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of the clinical trial process and ICH-GCP guidelines.
  • Experience in a clinical research environment is desirable.
  • Ability to manage one’s workload effectively and demonstrate IT proficiency.
