We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Intellectual Disability (ID) within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to join our team in North Derbyshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment, with the possibility of flexible working arrangements.

The successful candidate will be part of a well-established LD CAMHS team, which includes professionals from various disciplines such as psychiatry, clinical psychology, and speech and language therapy. Our team has a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care and has received nominations for their outstanding work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and mentoring of junior staff and trainees.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and audits.
  • Work closely with local schools and partner agencies to deliver training and support.

Requirements

  • MBChB or equivalent qualification and CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice and entry on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
  • Experience working with young people and their families.
  • Skills in clinical supervision and independent patient care.
