We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary therapy service at a secondary school in North London. This role offers a unique opportunity to integrate deeply within the school community, enhancing the skills and knowledge of staff while addressing the language-based literacy difficulties of students.

As the sole representative of Words First in the school, you will maintain close connections with our broader clinical team through regular supervision and support. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting assessments and interventions for secondary-aged students.
• Providing individual and group therapy sessions.
• Supporting students with language, literacy, and communication needs.
• Developing functional and curriculum-relevant targets.
• Coaching and training school staff to improve their capabilities.
• Contributing to EHCP outcomes and participating in annual reviews.
• Collaborating with families and other professionals.
• Managing your own caseload and clinical priorities.

To be considered for this position, you must be a HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist with Band 6 experience or equivalent, and have prior experience in a secondary school. Strong clinical reasoning, caseload management skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. A keen interest in language, literacy, and adolescent communication, along with a collaborative approach to staff development, is also required.
