Audit Placement – Aberdeen – September 2027 Overview

Join the audit team at RSM for a 12-month paid placement starting in September 2027, designed for students pursuing a sandwich degree. This opportunity allows you to gain hands-on experience while working alongside both trainees and seasoned audit professionals.

As a member of the audit team, you will engage in real client projects, receive on-the-job training, and have access to internal training courses to enhance your skills throughout the year. Your performance during this placement could lead to a position in one of our graduate training programs upon completion of your degree.

Your Responsibilities

• Become an integral member of the audit team from the outset, engaging in client work promptly.
• Initially collaborate within a larger team before assuming individual responsibility for specific projects.
• Conduct comprehensive, risk-focused assessments of clients’ financial records, processes, and controls.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, fostering trust and confidence among stakeholders.
• Work with a diverse range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, large listed companies, charities, pension schemes, and other not-for-profit organizations.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 112 UCAS points from three A levels or an equivalent level 3 qualification.
• 104 UCAS points from four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
• Enrollment in a placement degree program.
• Possession of a permanent right to live and work in the UK for this position.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex information clearly.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and resolve issues.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities to build relationships and maintain composure under pressure.
• A genuine interest in business and commerce, along with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel to client locations and other offices as necessary.

Please note that RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). The start date for this position is mandatory on 14 September 2027, as the training provided from day one is essential for your career development.
