AI Enablement Lead, External Relations Overview

The External Relations AI Enablement Lead position at Bloomberg is focused on accelerating the adoption of AI within the External Relations organization. This role requires a hands-on, technically proficient individual who is eager to apply AI to enhance business workflows, particularly in non-technical teams where significant improvements can be achieved by rethinking existing processes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams, including Communications, Corporate Philanthropy, Climate Finance, and Global Public Policy, to identify valuable use cases for AI, prototype AI-driven workflows, and enhance productivity across the organization. This role serves as a vital link between External Relations, engineering, product, operations, compliance, and firmwide AI teams, facilitating the translation of emerging AI capabilities into practical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ER teams to identify workflows where AI can enhance speed, quality, insights, or scalability.
• Prototype practical AI solutions using approved internal tools and automation techniques.
• Translate complex business challenges into actionable AI use cases, pilots, and repeatable workflows.
• Encourage teams to rethink their processes from the ground up instead of merely adding AI to existing workflows.
• Act as a hands-on advisor and coach for ER colleagues, ranging from beginners to advanced users of AI.
• Create reusable playbooks, examples, prompts, workflows, and training materials tailored to the needs of ER.
• Conduct demonstrations, office hours, workshops, and showcases to make AI use cases tangible and actionable.
• Foster a community of AI advocates across global ER teams and facilitate the spread of successful ideas.
• Serve as the main liaison between ER and firmwide AI, engineering, product, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
• Assist colleagues in navigating access, policy, security, and procedural inquiries related to AI tools.
• Stay informed about Bloomberg’s internal AI roadmap and communicate relevant developments to ER.
• Provide ER leadership with updates on AI adoption, emerging use cases, challenges, successes, and future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical experience, preferably in programming, automation, data analysis, or product/engineering roles.
• Strong practical knowledge of AI tools and a keen interest in the future of AI technology.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.
• A builder mindset, characterized by a willingness to experiment, prototype, test, and enhance solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to business-oriented teams.
• Sound judgment regarding responsible AI usage, confidentiality, compliance, and operational risks.
• Interest in leveraging technical skills for business transformation, workflow innovation, and organizational change.
