Oracle Error Message
RMAN-06437: cannot drop catalog – catalog is newer than this RMAN
Reason for the Error
The DROP CATALOG command was entered, but the recovery catalog was created by a newer version of the Recovery Manager (RMAN). This version of RMAN may not be able to drop the entire recovery catalog.
Solution
Use the version of RMAN which most recently created or upgraded the recovery catalog.
