    ORA-16769: the physical standby database is open read-only

    Reason for the Error

    All instances in the physical standby database were put into a read-only state instead of APPLY-OFF.

    Solution

    Issue the EDIT DATABASE SET STATE command to set the database to the APPLY-OFF state.
