    ORA-09846: soacon: ARCH unable to open named pipe.

    Reason for the Error

    open() failed to open named pipe ?/dbs/mon2arch_@.

    Solution

    Make sure that the OS userid of the currently running database has search permission for the ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. The max number of open files may have been exceeded.
