As an Undergraduate Systems Engineer at BAE Systems, you will embark on a 12-month placement starting in June 2027, based in Prestwick, Ayrshire. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to advanced technology-led defense, aerospace, and security solutions while working alongside a diverse team of professionals.

Your responsibilities will include managing requirements, developing system specifications, and engaging in research, design, and development activities. You will also be involved in systems modeling and integration, as well as overseeing qualification, certification, and acceptance processes for engineering products. Additionally, you will provide essential product support to ensure operational effectiveness.

The Air Team at BAE Systems has a rich history in the development and support of leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft, including the Typhoon and F-35. You will gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment that emphasizes safety, environmental considerations, and stakeholder management.

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in relevant subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace, Technology, Systems, or Engineering. You should also be prepared for potential travel within the UK and internationally as part of your role.
