Join Severn Trent as a Statutory Compliance Project Manager and play a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). This position is part of the Process Safety Compliance Team, where you will manage the implementation and adherence to DSEAR across various sites, ensuring safety and compliance for all stakeholders involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing compliance with DSEAR regulations.
  • Conduct DSEAR site risk assessments and hazardous area classifications.
  • Ensure compliance across all functional areas of the organization.
  • Manage periodic statutory inspections of assets and equipment in hazardous areas.
  • Support the rectification of non-compliant equipment and installations.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with DSEAR activities.
  • Enhance asset data and maintenance planning related to DSEAR.
  • Provide technical support and share best practices regarding DSEAR compliance.
  • Manage contractors to ensure compliance and successful delivery of DSEAR inspections and remedial tasks.
  • Assist in improving DSEAR competency across Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.
  • Support Health & Safety standards, regulations, and legislation updates.
  • Manage information to measure performance against compliance criteria and service level agreements.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular meetings.
  • Control data associated with DSEAR compliance and develop systems to meet DSEAR and company standards.
  • Handle operational and capital financial management related to compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with capital delivery teams, safety groups, and Communities of Practice to share best practices.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in delivering multi-site projects with operational and health & safety risk management.
  • Strong understanding of DSEAR and associated standards and approved Codes of Practice.
  • Knowledge of water industry standards and experience with wastewater and water treatment processes.
  • Proven experience in managing contractors and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems and their maintenance/operational activities.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQ level 3 in electrical/mechanical discipline, CompEx, APM or equivalent, and IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a caring character, with a commitment to community service.
