We are seeking a passionate and motivated Rotational Occupational Therapist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role is ideal for both recently qualified and experienced Band 5 therapists looking for a dynamic work environment. The successful candidate will engage in six-month rotations across various specialties at multiple hospital sites, including the Royal London Hospital, Whipps Cross University Hospital, Newham University Hospital, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

The rotations will cover areas such as Medicine, Respiratory, Oncology, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Older People Services, Trauma, Orthopedics, Surgery, Vascular & Amputees, Cardio-Respiratory, and Accident & Emergency. You will be part of well-established therapy teams that emphasize structured supervision and appraisals within an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions to a variety of patients.
  • Conduct assessments and provide treatment, including individual and group education sessions.
  • Supply assistive devices and implement minor home adaptations.
  • Work across multiple specialties, including respiratory care, critical care, and trauma services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Essential: Completion of varied clinical placements.
  • Essential: Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
  • Essential: Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and caregivers.
  • Essential: Understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities in the profession.
  • Essential: Competence in IT and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Essential: Ability to perform physical tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Desirable: Presentation skills and ability to educate clients on safe transfer techniques.
