This position offers a unique chance to become part of Arm’s Partner Enablement group, focusing on Applications Engineering, which merges technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills. The role is pivotal in assisting Arm’s partners in developing real-world applications utilizing Arm technology, ranging from large semiconductor companies to innovative startups.

The Staff Engineering Manager will primarily support Computer Vision and Machine Learning software solutions for OEMs, ODMs, and ecosystem partners, facilitating Edge and Physical AI applications. This role involves direct technical contributions to customer and partner enablement, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure the successful adoption and deployment of Arm technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to partners regarding firmware, software, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision issues on Arm-based systems.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, ML, and applications engineering teams, as well as cross-functional groups within Engineering, Business Units, and Product Management.
  • Investigate and replicate complex issues faced by customers, working with engineering teams to determine root causes and facilitate resolutions.
  • Conduct customer training sessions, workshops, and technical presentations to enhance understanding and usage of Arm technologies.
  • Offer technical support during critical customer project milestones, including platform integration and bring-up activities.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor junior engineers.
  • Occasionally travel to Arm locations and partner sites for support and collaboration.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in firmware or software development.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • In-depth understanding of System on Chip (SoC) architecture.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and Computer Vision software frameworks.
  • Experience in debugging across firmware, operating systems, and application layers.
  • Knowledge of Rich Operating Systems like Linux, including application layer and driver development.
  • Solid understanding of Arm processor architecture.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide technical leadership across distributed and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
