As a Specialist Renal Pharmacist, you will join a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional care to patients with complex renal conditions. This role is designed to enhance pharmacy services within our dialysis and renal outpatient populations while leading significant medication cost-saving initiatives. You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in renal pharmacy and contribute to improving patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
- Function as a specialist pharmacist in renal services throughout the trust, promoting the safe and effective use of medications.
- Lead medication cost-saving projects within the renal care group.
- Manage the pharmacy services for patients receiving haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- Supervise the renal pharmacy team and other pharmacists.
- Act as a deputy for the lead pharmacist for renal services when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Master’s degree in Pharmacy from a UK School of Pharmacy or equivalent recognized by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Essential: One year of pre-registration training and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Essential: Completion of Foundation Stage 1 of the Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent.
- Essential: Clinical experience in hospital pharmacy across various environments.
- Desirable: Experience in renal pharmacy services.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a systematic approach to tasks.
- Desirable: Leadership and motivational skills, along with experience in service improvement.
