As a Software Engineer in the UX team at Google DeepMind, you will play a crucial role in advancing the development of AI technologies. Your work will involve collaborating with a diverse team of Machine Learning and Neuroscience researchers to create innovative solutions that enhance user interaction with AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop both front-end and back-end components for user-facing products, ensuring a human-centered approach to integrating advanced research and technology.
- Create, test, and iterate on stable yet experimental code for new features aimed at enhancing user experience.
- Build dynamic workflows and collaborative tools that cater to specific user needs and content types.
- Take full ownership of the engineering implementation and delivery process, including addressing bugs and enhancing performance to deliver a polished final product.
- Engage in prompt engineering to develop intelligent, AI-driven user experiences.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
- At least 5 years of programming experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 5 years of experience with both front-end and back-end technologies, as well as modern web application development using frameworks like Angular, Svelte, or React.
- Experience in building prototypes for AI/ML systems and familiarity with AI-native development tools and workflows.
- Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization working on cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction.
