The Proton Drive team is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to enhance our core technology. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing the Proton Drive SDKs and ensuring consistency across client applications. You will collaborate with backend API, web frontend, and mobile developers to achieve optimal performance and seamless integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop core libraries in Rust for Proton’s web and mobile applications.
- Ensure cross-platform compatibility and optimal performance across web browsers and mobile devices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to maintain high code quality and performance.
- Collaborate with frontend and mobile developers for seamless integration.
- Implement secure coding practices to uphold Proton’s security standards.
- Develop testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, for core libraries.
- Create and maintain documentation for core libraries for developer assistance.
- Stay updated on advancements in Rust and related technologies to suggest improvements.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, focusing on Rust.
- Strong expertise in Rust features, concurrency, and ownership model.
- Experience in developing libraries for web and mobile applications.
- Proven collaborative skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and commitment to security.
- Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development, particularly in building native mobile SDKs.
