Senior RF IC Design Engineer Overview

We are looking for a Senior RF IC Design Engineer to join a dynamic and expanding high-tech company located in Cardiff, Wales. This position offers a competitive salary based on experience and provides flexible working options, including hybrid arrangements.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the development of innovative RF and microwave front-ends, transceivers, RF system-in-package (SiP) architectures, and multi-chip module (MCM) solutions across various target markets. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development of RF integrated circuits (RFICs) and RF cores, focusing on signal interfaces.
• Designing high-performance RF and microwave front-ends and transceivers for complex communication systems.
• Creating low-noise amplifiers and various signal chain components, including quadrature mixers, low phase-noise phase-locked loops (PLLs), transmit blocks, power amplifier driver stages, switches, attenuators, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), and amplifiers.
• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.

The ideal candidate will possess several years of experience in analogue, mixed-signal, RF, and microwave IC design, along with a strong track record in RF product development. Expertise in RF architecture, circuit design, simulation and verification, high-frequency layout, and semiconductor process technologies is essential. Additionally, great communication and teamwork skills are important for success in this small, rapidly expanding team.
