NavLive Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team in Oxford, United Kingdom. As a spin-out from the University of Oxford, we are at the forefront of developing real-time spatial AI solutions for the construction and geospatial industries. Our technology utilizes multi-sensor fusion and high-precision positioning to create 3D models of environments, providing valuable insights for facility owners and decision-makers.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the physical delivery of our products, overseeing various aspects from concept to production. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the mechanical design process and taking ownership of future hardware development.
- Driving new product innovation and development, focusing on complex geometry design and hardware integration.
- Managing hardware operations, including BOM management and inventory reconciliation.
- Overseeing global supply chain logistics and procurement.
- Conducting mechanical validation and thermal simulations for high-performance compute modules.
- Leading compliance and certification processes for global markets.
- Transitioning hardware operations to a high-yield production environment.
- Mentoring a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Building small-batch prototypes and conducting factory acceptance tests.
To be successful in this position, you should meet the following requirements:
- 5+ years of advanced CAD design experience, particularly with SolidWorks and 3DEXPERIENCE.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Product Design.
- Expertise in mechanical engineering and a solid understanding of electronics and hardware integration.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing and production scaling, preferably in a startup environment.
- Experience with sensor integration, including computer vision hardware and advanced LiDAR sensors.
- Background in working with industrial or consumer products.
- Ability to manage workflows independently and communicate effectively with the team.
- Familiarity with AI tools to enhance engineering workflows.
We offer a competitive salary between £55,000 and £65,000 per year, along with 25 days of paid annual leave plus bank holidays, a salary pension exchange scheme, and employee share options. We value flexibility, allowing for hybrid work arrangements with 1-2 days of remote work per week.
