We are seeking a dedicated, innovative, and motivated Senior Hardware Engineer to join our GPU development team in Cambridge. This role involves close collaboration with block design teams to create and implement new processes and methodologies essential for developing next-generation GPUs. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in hardware design engineering, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results within ambitious timelines.

The successful applicant will take ownership of various tasks necessary for the effective development, integration, and delivery of cutting-edge GPUs. You will work alongside architecture, model, design, implementation, and verification teams to ensure that Arm’s GPU products meet the highest quality standards for our customers. Your involvement will span from the initial concept stages through to the final delivery of the GPU.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and deliver GPU hardware roadmap products.
  • Develop design methodologies for GPU development.
  • Integrate top-level RTL from various design teams and debug complex functional and performance design issues.
  • Explore and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance GPU power, performance, and area (PPA).

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience with hardware description languages, preferably System Verilog.
  • Familiarity with EDA simulators such as Siemens, Synopsys, or Cadence.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
  • Experience with version control and code review systems, particularly Git and Gerrit.
  • Proficiency in scripting for design automation using languages like Python, Perl, JSON, Tcl, or Make.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience

  • Experience with continuous integration, preferably using Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of Arm Mali or other mobile GPU architectures.
  • Experience in SoC integration and debugging.
  • Good understanding of front-end design flows and low power techniques.
  • Familiarity with synthesis constraining and timing report analysis.
  • Experience with linting tools and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of multi-clock and multi-power domain designs, as well as clock and reset topologies.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
