We are currently seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our Mobile Experience crew within the Application Platform tribe. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-performance, critical features for the MarineTraffic and Kpler mobile applications, which serve millions of users. You will utilize Flutter, Dart, and Mapbox to create B2C products and will also help design and evolve our mobile Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) using Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS. This is a production-critical service designed to scale and support the full load of our mobile applications.

You will be part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary squad that includes 2 Senior Engineers, 1 Mid-level Engineer, 1 Engineering Manager, 1 Product Manager, and 1 Designer. Our team is at the forefront of AI-assisted engineering, where 100% of deployed code is authored by AI under your orchestration, providing a modern environment for engineers eager to redefine software delivery through advanced AI tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement complex, production-ready features for the MarineTraffic and Kpler mobile applications, ensuring adherence to Clean Architecture standards and translating platform conventions into polished, user-friendly experiences.
• Design and enhance the mobile Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) using Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS, ensuring it serves all mobile application needs effectively.
• Act as a quality guardian by conducting code reviews, maintaining automated test suites (including unit, integration, and contract tests), and continuously improving CI/CD and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager and Designer to contribute to product and UX decisions, taking ownership of outcomes beyond just code implementation.
• Maintain and optimize the AI/LLM tooling stack to ensure agents can autonomously write code that meets the team’s standards.
• Mentor fellow engineers, contribute to the Front-end Chapter, and support business teams in managing their functional scopes as part of the crew’s platformisation strategy.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proven track record in building and deploying consumer mobile applications at scale, particularly those serving over a million users.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart for developing complex applications in a production environment.
• Strong background in Node.js and TypeScript, with experience in designing GraphQL APIs for scalable services.
• In-depth knowledge of mobile architecture, performance optimization, testing, and observability, with a commitment to Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles.
• Familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and the ability to create polished, accessible user experiences.
• Experience in contributing to product and UX decisions in collaboration with PMs and designers.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
