The Rotating Internship Programme at Linnaeus offers a unique opportunity for veterinary professionals to gain extensive hands-on experience in a supportive and structured environment. This program is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills while working alongside renowned specialists in various veterinary disciplines.

Internship Overview

As a Rotating Intern, you will rotate through multiple specialties, including:

• Internal Medicine
• Surgery
• Anaesthesia
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Oncology
• Emergency and Critical Care
• Neurology
• Cardiology
• Ophthalmology
• Dentistry

This internship provides direct access to multi-disciplinary specialist teams, allowing you to engage in diagnostics, surgery, and patient care from day one. You will be part of a vibrant community of over 100 Rotating Interns and more than 100 residents, all working together across the largest network of referral hospitals in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured Rotating Internship program that provides hands-on experience across various veterinary disciplines.
• Work alongside experienced specialists in fields such as internal medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, oncology, emergency and critical care, neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and dentistry.
• Engage in direct patient care and diagnostics from the outset of the internship.
• Attend small-group seminars and weekly clinical teaching sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
• Contribute to clinical research with opportunities to present findings at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Complete emergency care training, including RECOVER online certification in basic and advanced life support.
• Receive dedicated mentoring and support from trained mentors and the Internship Director.

Requirements

• Candidates must be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a small animal practice is required.
• Completion of the RCVS Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP) or exemption from it is necessary; applications will not be accepted from those who have not completed or are not close to completing the VetGDP.
