As a Research Scientist in Human Data and Robotics at Google DeepMind, you will be part of a team dedicated to advancing AI technologies to address significant global challenges. Your role will involve designing and implementing large-scale models and algorithms for robotic agents, aiming to unlock new capabilities and enhance performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement large models and algorithms for robotic agents to achieve breakthroughs and enhance robot capabilities.
- Develop software to execute research concepts and iterate rapidly while collaborating with a large team to meet ambitious research objectives.
- Create methodologies and conduct experiments to integrate scalable data sources, particularly human data, into robotics foundation models.
- Engage in diverse research areas, including simulation learning, reinforcement learning, demonstration learning, vision-language-action models, transformers, video generation, and humanoid robot control.
- Effectively report and present research findings to both internal and external audiences.
Requirements
- A PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in reinforcement learning and imitation learning.
- Familiarity with vision, vision-language, video, and other multimodal models.
- Experience in multimodal generative modeling, including training and inference.
- Preferred experience with capture methodologies, dataset design, and incorporating human action data into visual-language-action models or robotic systems.
- Experience with simulators and real-world robots, particularly in dexterous manipulation and multimodal sensing.
