As a Regulatory and Litigation Counsel focusing on AI Safety at Google, you will tackle some of the most pressing legal challenges posed by rapid technological advancements. This role is integral to a global team dedicated to formulating strategies that defend the company against regulatory scrutiny and inquiries.
Your responsibilities will include leading responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and litigation, as well as overseeing the accurate collection and production of information for external submissions. You will also provide legal advice on government audits and regulatory examinations.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A JD, LL.B., or equivalent legal degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admission to the bar and good standing, or authorization to practice law in the relevant state.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in legal, regulatory, and litigation matters, with a focus on minimizing and addressing regulatory risks.
- Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorneys General, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in developing and maintaining compliance programs for products.
- Familiarity with technology companies and the ability to navigate complex technical issues.
- Experience working with public company boards and their legal counsel.
- Knowledge of privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation/safety, or intellectual property law in a technology context.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to integrity.
- Excellent communication, time management, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
