We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified or soon-to-be-qualified Radiographer to join our dynamic team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to contribute to our diverse diagnostic services across four sites.

The successful candidate will receive a structured induction and ongoing support from the Radiology team, allowing for the development of radiography and patient care skills. The role offers a wide range of experiences, including trauma imaging, general and specialist orthopaedic imaging, theatre and mobile imaging, paediatrics, fluoroscopy, and dental radiography.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, efficient plain film imaging services across multiple sites.
  • Assist in the effective management of imaging rooms and staffing at Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Support the training and development of student radiographers.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance and quality assurance standards.
  • Conduct audits to assess standards and performance in imaging services.
  • Provide optimal patient care while adhering to strict Radiation Protection guidelines.
  • Participate in the Technically Suboptimal X-ray (TSX) process for quality assurance.
  • Engage in flexible working hours, including on-call duties across a 7-day week.

Requirements:

  • Must possess either a Diploma of the College of Radiographers (DCR) or a Bachelor’s degree in Radiology.
  • Hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrate general radiographic experience, either as a student or qualified radiographer.
  • Exhibit basic IT skills and computer literacy.
  • Show evidence of being professionally up to date.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Speak English fluently and accurately, suitable for the role.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and demonstrate flexibility in working across four sites.
