Bloomberg is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join the Macro and Commodity Research Data team in London. This role is pivotal in building a comprehensive suite of datasets designed for quantitative and systematic investment research.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and ongoing management of products within the Macro and Commodity Research Data portfolio, from initial assessment to launch and enhancement.
- Develop expertise in relevant macroeconomic or commodity datasets and their applications in various investment workflows.
- Engage with clients, including researchers and portfolio managers, to understand their workflows and identify unmet needs.
- Translate client and market requirements into detailed product specifications, ensuring integrity and accessibility of data.
- Evaluate new product opportunities based on client demand, market size, and strategic fit.
- Contribute to the commercial strategy, including product positioning, pricing, and monetization.
- Create business cases for new products and enhancements, supported by market analysis and client evidence.
- Define product objectives and success metrics, monitoring adoption and usage to inform product roadmap adjustments.
- Manage product priorities and specifications, balancing development efforts with client commitments.
- Collaborate with various teams, including data, engineering, and sales, to ensure successful product delivery.
- Support sales teams with product expertise and market context, enhancing client understanding of product value.
- Stay informed about developments in macroeconomic and commodity markets, as well as advancements in financial data infrastructure.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in product management, financial data, investment research, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of macroeconomic or commodity markets, with experience in areas such as economic indicators, foreign exchange, and commodity balances.
- Familiarity with quantitative investment research and how datasets are utilized in forecasting and portfolio analysis.
- Experience in gathering client requirements and translating complex workflows into product specifications.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how product value translates into adoption and revenue.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market opportunities and make data-driven recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across various functions.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, APIs, and cloud-based data delivery methods.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, commonly used in data analysis and quantitative research.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
