In the role of People Operations Manager for Genius Sports in the UK, you will be the key representative of the People team, working closely with colleagues and managers throughout the entire employee lifecycle. Your focus will be on ensuring operational excellence, compliance, engagement, and wellbeing within the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end operational delivery of the employment experience, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, and management of cyclical processes such as pay reviews and performance management.
- Manage daily onboarding, payroll processing, and benefits enrollment, collaborating with payroll and benefits providers and finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while working with key stakeholders to enhance operational processes.
- Contribute to the development of People policies, providing insights to maintain a competitive edge.
- Support managers in developing their management capabilities and effectively leading their teams to achieve high performance.
- Coach and advise managers and staff on performance improvement and issue resolution.
- Drive local initiatives to enhance employee engagement, talent retention, and learning and development.
- Address individual and collective employee relations issues in a compliant manner, including informal disciplinary matters and absence management.
- Maintain the integrity of UK People data, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date, while coaching stakeholders on its effective use.
- Lead the effective use of HR systems like Workday and manage local People documentation to align with business needs.
- Act as the People team lead on UK-specific programs such as payroll governance, benefits renewals, and global engagement campaigns.

- Comprehensive understanding of the People operations lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll management, benefits, and job changes.
- Preferred experience working as part of a global HR team.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, particularly Workday.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Awareness of country-specific nuances and the ability to collaborate with local teams and legal counsel.
- Experience working with diverse workforces and understanding varying motivators within different employee cohorts.
