This position offers a unique opportunity to join Deloitte’s M&A Transaction Services team, where you will engage in high-profile assignments alongside some of the industry’s leading professionals. You will work on a diverse range of projects, encompassing both corporate and private equity transactions, all within a client-focused and commercially driven environment.
The core services provided by the team include acquisition and vendor financial due diligence, bid defense, and reporting accountant services for capital market transactions. You will collaborate within a broader deal team that leverages the firm’s extensive specialist expertise, which includes commercial and operational due diligence, negotiation of sale and purchase agreements, real estate, treasury, pensions, modeling, fund placement, merger integration, IT, and business intelligence. Additionally, you will often participate in international assignments that require collaboration across borders and service lines, fostering a wide network within both the UK and international firms.
Responsibilities
- Quickly develop an understanding of the target business and its drivers.
- Interpret and analyze information memoranda, business plans, and publicly available information on the target business.
- Review and analyze historical trading, cash flow, and balance sheets.
- Review and analyze projections and the underlying assumptions.
- Assess the adequacy of working capital facilities, including financing limits, terms, and covenants.
- Evaluate potential synergies.
- Report potential key issues for clients, identifying risks or price-affecting considerations.
- Review sale and purchase agreements and correlate findings from the due diligence process.
- Analyze financial structures and associated credit agreements.
- Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive culture that recognizes contributions.
Requirements
- An ACA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in M&A transactions, financial due diligence, or significant experience in a relevant industry.
- High-level report writing and reviewing skills, with a focus on detail, conciseness, and risk management.
- Exceptional academic background or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience operating with senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data quickly and accurately.
- Strong commercial acumen and market awareness.
- Excellent client management skills focused on delivering high-quality service.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Desirable
- Fluency in a major European foreign language would be advantageous.
