As a Hardware Engineer at Arm, you will play a crucial role in the development of debug tools that empower our partners to create exceptional hardware and software for embedded devices. These devices are integral to various applications, including mobile technology, gaming, and enterprise solutions. Your contributions will be vital in the evolution and manufacturing of the DSTREAM family of high-performance debug and trace probes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance embedded hardware for DSTREAM probes and associated JTAG, trace, and boundary-scan products.
  • Conduct hardware verification, board bring-up, schematic design, and component selection.
  • Engage in technical investigations related to hardware development.
  • Work on MCU-based control boards and complex SoC- and FPGA-based designs, including high pin-count devices and multiple power domains.
  • Collaborate with a team of hardware, FPGA, and software engineers to define interfaces, review designs, and resolve integration challenges.
  • Support prototype builds, production testing, and manufacturing delivery.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in creating schematic designs for embedded products, emphasizing quality, testing, and manufacturability.
  • Ability to support board bring-up, hardware debugging, and root-cause analysis in a laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of design for test and manufacture, including prototype support and component selection.
  • Familiarity with common board-level interfaces and protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, and JTAG, along with awareness of higher-speed interfaces like DDR and LVDS.
  • Experience working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and providing constructive feedback on peer work.
