As an AI/ML Senior Software Engineer focusing on Data Optimization and Platform at Google, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the performance and quality of machine learning models through innovative data optimization techniques. Your work will significantly influence the technical direction of data platforms used for model tuning across various product areas.

Your responsibilities will include scaling data optimization techniques derived from Google Research, establishing technical relationships with multiple product teams, and leveraging existing assets to accelerate model tuning for teams like Bard and others fine-tuning Gemini models. You will collaborate closely with research teams and machine learning practitioners to develop and iterate on engineering tools, processing pipelines, and data optimization techniques, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows and user interfaces.

To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in data structures and algorithms using Python. A minimum of 3 years of experience in areas such as speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, or machine learning infrastructure is required, as well as experience in data analysis and optimization.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, and experience working in complex, matrixed organizations. Familiarity with Generative AI and experience in data optimization and data platforms will be advantageous.
