As a Global Threat Analyst within the Protective Intelligence team at Google, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of Googlers by managing security intelligence analysis and risk mitigation strategies. Your expertise will help develop a culture where safety and security are integral to every aspect of Google’s operations.

In this position, you will assess risks to Google facilities and personnel, evaluate and disseminate intelligence, and collaborate with various teams to create effective strategies that enhance security measures. You will also utilize advanced open-source research techniques to identify potential threats and improve intelligence processes to adapt to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess risks to Google facilities, operations, and personnel across various product areas based on ongoing or anticipated events to inform security posture and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate, create, and disseminate accurate and timely global intelligence to relevant stakeholders, ensuring that risk assessments effectively communicate impact, credibility, and likelihood.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with key partners across Alphabet product areas and build relationships with public sector counterparts and other relevant organizations.
  • Utilize publicly available sources and advanced open-source research techniques to identify and evaluate potential threats or concerns to Google’s personnel, property, and intellectual assets.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance intelligence processes and programs to adapt to changing business needs and prevent strategic surprises for business leaders, acting as the main point of contact for regional protective services operators in support of executive risk analysis and monitoring activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in managing security intelligence analysis and risk mitigation strategies, including experience with Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting projects related to close protection operations through analytical support or prior operational experience.
  • Experience with AI tools, particularly in assessing the reliability, bias, and accuracy of data and intelligence outputs generated by automated tools.
  • Preferred: 6 years of experience in security risk analysis within corporate, military, government, or nonprofit environments.
  • Preferred: 3 years of analytical experience in protective intelligence within corporate, military, government, or nonprofit environments.
  • Experience in establishing and overseeing an OSINT threat intelligence collection program, including vendor oversight.
  • Direct analytical experience supporting a close protection function in both tactical and strategic contexts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as necessary.
  • Proven capability to convey complex analytical findings clearly and concisely, tailoring communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
