As a Fault Studies Engineer Graduate, you will be part of our Science and Engineering Graduate Programme, commencing in early September 2027, with a starting salary of £37,500 per annum.

This 16-month programme is designed to cultivate your expertise in fault studies, modeling, and nuclear safety analysis. You will play a crucial role in evaluating the responses of nuclear power plants during operational events and fault conditions, contributing to EDF’s mission towards a sustainable energy future.

What You’ll Experience

As a graduate in this role, you will gain practical experience using computational tools to model nuclear power stations, assessing their behavior in various scenarios. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of key energy infrastructure in the UK. Responsibilities include:

• Performing simulations and technical analyses to assess safety systems.
• Providing operational teams with guidance to maintain safe reactor operations.
• Collaborating with various technical teams, including Reactor Physics and Radiation Protection.
• Engaging in training focused on nuclear fundamentals and safety culture.

Location

Your primary workplace will be at our Gloucester site, where you will rotate through different technical teams. Depending on project needs, you may also have opportunities to work at other EDF locations, enhancing your understanding of the organization.

Who You Are

To qualify for this graduate programme, you should have achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or higher in a relevant degree. A strong interest in nuclear energy and engineering analysis is essential. Additionally, you must meet Security Vetting requirements, typically necessitating UK residency for three of the last five years. An Assessment Centre will be held virtually on 10 November 2026, and attendance is mandatory for consideration.
