We are seeking an EDA Optimisation Engineer to enhance the data-driven optimization, analysis, and maintenance of Arm’s engineering platforms. This position is integral to a team focused on improving system utilization, efficiency, and cost-performance, while also addressing forecasting accuracy and infrastructure strategy. The role will be part of the Productivity Engineering group, emphasizing metrics, automation, data engineering, and problem-solving in a metrics-first, data-driven decision-making environment. The work aims to enhance scalability and vendor strategy across high-performance computing (HPC), cloud, emulation, and FPGA environments.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the optimization of high-performance computing (HPC) scheduling and infrastructure efficiency.
- Assist in performance benchmarking activities to support platform decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations for observability and performance analysis.
- Analyze Cost and Usage Reports (CUR) and infrastructure metrics to aid in forecasting, budgeting, and optimization strategies for large-scale compute environments.
- Build and maintain scalable analytics frameworks to measure utilization, capacity, and workload behavior.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure decisions are driven by data.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in distributed high-performance computing (HPC), cloud environments, and data engineering & analytics.
- Familiarity with electronic design automation (EDA) workflows and semiconductor engineering environments.
- Proficiency in Python and data analysis/machine learning frameworks.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
- Experience with IBM Spectrum LSF or other job schedulers.
- Familiarity with NetApp or high-performance storage systems.
- Experience applying AI/ML to workload optimization or resource management.
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines.
- Exposure to FPGA and Emulation infrastructure.
