We are seeking a Data Software Engineer to join our team at G-Research, where we tackle complex challenges in quantitative finance by applying scientific clarity to financial intricacies. The Data Serving Platform team plays a crucial role in managing G-Research’s core datasets, overseeing a suite of data-serving components that facilitate massively parallel access to data across our computing environment. This team is responsible for providing both live and historical data views, supporting essential workflows throughout the organization. Our goal is to develop a straightforward, robust, and user-friendly system that connects data providers and consumers, allowing seamless data and analytics sharing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop production-grade trading platforms and services from start to finish.
- Enhance software performance, throughput, and efficiency at scale.
- Contribute to the reliability and operational excellence of essential systems.
- Implement strong software engineering practices, including testing, code quality, automation, and observability.
- Participate in a shared production support rotation, addressing incidents, troubleshooting runtime issues, and driving improvements.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficient in at least one typed programming language such as Java, C#, or C++.
- Experience in optimizing software performance or efficiency.
- Familiarity with distributed software systems is a plus.
- Experience with data processing or data serving systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Rust, C#, Python, Parquet, Arrow, Delta Lake, or Kubernetes is advantageous.
