We are seeking a talented Data Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at G-Research. In this role, you will be instrumental in tackling complex challenges in quantitative finance, leveraging scientific clarity to navigate financial intricacies. The Data Serving Platform team is central to G-Research’s core datasets, managing a suite of components that facilitate massively parallel access to data within our computing environment. This team is responsible for providing both live and historical data views, supporting essential workflows across the organization. Our vision is to develop a straightforward, robust, and user-friendly system that connects data providers and consumers, enabling seamless data and analytics sharing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve production-grade trading platforms and services from start to finish.
- Optimize software performance, throughput, and efficiency at scale.
- Contribute to the reliability and operational excellence of critical systems.
- Apply strong software engineering practices, focusing on testing, code quality, automation, and observability.
- Engage in a shared production support rotation, responding to incidents, troubleshooting runtime issues, and implementing improvements.
Who Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong competency in at least one typed programming language such as Java, C#, or C++.
- Experience in optimizing software performance or efficiency.
- Desirable experience with distributed software systems.
- Familiarity with data processing or data serving systems.
- Knowledge of Rust, C#, Python, Parquet, Arrow, Delta Lake, or Kubernetes is a plus.
