Data Analyst Arabic Overview

As a Data Analyst specializing in Arabic, you will play a crucial role in supporting Lightcast’s global data initiatives by focusing on the analysis and enhancement of multilingual data quality. This position involves close collaboration with the Linguistics and Engineering teams to develop parsers, assess text classifiers, and translate essential taxonomies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data to clients in various global markets.

Major Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and enhance the quality of multilingual text classifiers.
• Collaborate with Linguistics and Engineering teams to create parsers tailored for various Arabic dialects and regions.
• Translate key taxonomies, including Skills, Titles, and Occupations.
• Utilize Excel and other data analysis tools to analyze and clean data.
• Leverage language, data, and text analysis skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality global data.

Education & Experience:

• Fluency in reading and writing Arabic, with a solid grasp of Arabic syntax and structural analysis.
• Possession of a reliable laptop and stable internet connection.
• Familiarity with multiple Arabic dialects is preferred.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, particularly with VLOOKUPs, data cleanup, and functions.
• Familiarity with query languages such as SQL.
• Advanced skills in writing rules using regular expressions (RegEx).
• Understanding of text analysis or machine learning concepts.
• Experience in data analysis using tools like Excel.
• Ability to perform meticulous, detail-oriented tasks with precision.
• Capability to follow complex instructions, manage ambiguity, and work autonomously.
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and a sense of urgency.
