This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Oncologist specializing in Breast and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary cancers at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The successful candidate will lead the medical oncology team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality oncological care and contributing to the development of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the medical oncology department focusing on breast and hepato-pancreato-biliary cancers.
  • Ensure high-quality oncological care delivery to patients within the trust.
  • Enhance multidisciplinary management of patients with specified malignancies.
  • Increase patient participation in clinical trials and expand services to meet patient needs.
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement initiatives, including the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) and Cost Improvement Programme (CIP).
  • Implement evidence-based practices and new working methods as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Hold MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 in Clinical Oncology; FRCR is desirable.
  • Have full registration and a license to practice with the General Medical Council.
  • Be eligible for entry on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at the time of interview.
  • Demonstrate clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCT in Medical Oncology.
  • Have extensive experience in prescribing chemotherapy, including E-prescribing.
  • Experience in Acute Oncology is essential.
