Audit Placement – Nottingham – September 2027 Overview

Join RSM’s audit team in Nottingham for a 12-month paid placement starting in September 2027, designed for students pursuing a sandwich degree. This opportunity allows you to gain hands-on experience while working alongside both trainees and seasoned audit professionals.

As part of your role, you will be involved in real client projects from day one, receiving on-the-job training and access to internal courses to support your development. Your contributions will be crucial in conducting thorough, risk-focused reviews of clients’ financial records, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and fostering trust among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Become an integral member of the audit team, quickly engaging in client work and gradually taking on individual project responsibilities.
• Conduct detailed evaluations of clients’ financial records, processes, and controls.
• Work with a diverse array of clients, including owner-managed businesses, large listed groups, charities, pension schemes, and not-for-profit organizations.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills throughout the placement.

Requirements

• A minimum of 112 UCAS points from three A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification), or 104 UCAS points from four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
• Must be enrolled in a placement degree program.
• Permanent right to live and work in the UK is required for this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to address problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building and maintaining composure under pressure.
• A genuine interest in business and commerce, along with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as needed.

Please note that RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). The start date for this position is mandatory on 14 September 2027, as the training provided from day one is essential for your career development.
